Netflix will be screening the season three opener the next day (Thursday, October 11) from 8am for those in the UK.
Riverdale is set to see some big shakes up with some brand new actors joining the cast with Gina Gershon’s addition being announced at New York Comic Con over the weekend.
According to TV Line, the character is not exactly clean-cut and “runs the salvage yard that doubles as a Serpent compound, and the Serpents all snap to attention when she gives them an order”.
The description goes on to read: “A Serpent with a GED, she acts as Fagin to a crew of teenaged car parts thieves.”
However, Riverdale fans will have to wait for a while before Gladys appears in the new series.
The character is expected to be making her debut around episode eight or nine, which would be the midseason finale and premiere.
The timing of Gladys’ introduction suggests that the storyline will be an important part of the show.
Along with Gershon’s casting being announced, it was confirmed that rising star Trinity Likins would be joining as well as Forsythia “Jellybean” Jones, the younger sister of Jughead (Cole Sprouse).
Jellybean was described as “wise beyond her years” with a love of Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath.
Gladys and Jellybean will be living in Toledo running scams in a bid to make a living and pay the bills.
Just like her mother, Jellybean is something of a com artist, which could have an impact on her older brother.
